Joy KirchgessnerJoy's aim is to compose art so that it awakens the imagination, cultivates dreams, tells a story, and instills growth.
Her favored influence is magical realism.
As far as insights or techniques, her best advice is to create a detailed idea, fashion a plan, make the basic drawing, decide on the tones, and afterwards, the rest will come easily.
She earned a degree in illustration and graphic arts. Her paintings have traveled with the Kentucky National Wildlife Exhibit, she's been an Indiana Governor's Choice Hoosier Woman Artist, she's a member of the literary writing group, Southern Indiana Writers (SIW) and her illustrations accompany the groups' anthologies. Her latest works are mural standees for the Harrison County Agricultural Society/Indiana Bicentennial Celebration.
